Unfortunately there is currently no proper command to spawn items in the vanilla version of Stardew Valley. This is the recommended method of spawning items within Stardew Valley. It’s completely free, and while tedious, it can be used to repeatedly spawn items without any cost to you. Ideally, you will want to follow this from the beginning of the game as it involves your character’s name. However, if you want to do this on a current save, it’s still possible to change your character’s name at a later point. More on this later.
When you create a character, you’ll be able to fit three different Item IDs within your name. First off, use the above table to find the IDs of the three items you wish to spawn. Keep in mind, these can be repeatedly spawned over and over again.
Once you’ve found the items you want, enter them in the Name field surrounded by brackets. For sake of example, I’ll use an Emerald, Ruby and Topaz. If I want to spawn these items, I’ll need to enter my name as: [60][64][68]
Now that you have your name sorted out with the items you want to spawn, make your way to a villager that uses your name in their dialogue. Many characters do this, but the best to abuse this method with is Gus in the Stardrop Saloon. Anytime you talk to him before 12:30 AM he will mention your name. Each time he says your name, you will receive each of the three items you listed in your name!
This method is only recommended if you don’t plan on spawning many items, and have enough gold to spend in your current game. It relies on you buying and selling animals multiple times, so it can get pricey!
Once you’re able to, head over to Marnie at her Ranch. Those of you that are familiar with the game already will know that this is where you go to purchase animals for your farm. We recommend that you use chickens for this method for the sake of saving some money.
When you reach the option to name your new animal, use the same method as above. The only stipulation here, is that the name is required to be a minimum of five characters. The next steps apply to both Windows and Mac. From your current location, find your “StardewValley” folder, and then navigate to the “Saves” subfolder. In here, you’ll see a folder for every character you have saved, open the folder of the character you wish to rename.
Open the file “SaveGameInfo” with your Notepad and press Ctrl + F. Type in the name of your character and press enter, this will jump you directly to the name surrounded by the <name> </name>
tags.
Delete the name inside these tags, and replace it with your new name, or in our case, the new IDs of the items you wish to spawn. Save and close the file, and now all that’s left to do is update the name of the entire save folder (the folder inside of “Saves”) to the new name you chose. Boot up your game, and you’ll be rocking your new name!
